Fundraising and Support Network

Join us as a founding supporter of the We Gotta Play Together indoor accessible playground. The first of its kind in Edmonton, this will be a welcoming and inclusive space for children of all abilities. A sliding scale fee model will ensure no child is excluded from the playground.

WGPT stands for “We Gotta Play Together”, a slogan that means kids should have a safe place to play, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. The WGPT Centre will be a 10,000 sq. ft. indoor recreation park playground for children, especially those with disabilities.

To fully fund the We Gotta Play Together Centre we are looking at an estimated budget of $500,000.00. Money raised will go towards a fully accessible, indoor playground area and open play space, cafeteria, parent’s lounge, private special event facilities and more.

Will you help us make this dream a reality?

Every dollar donated brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality for all of Edmonton’s children and families.

All donors to this causevox campaign will receive exclusive invitations to see the playground and be one of the first to experience the We Gotta Play Together indoor accessible space.

Why an indoor accessible playground?

Propelled by her own experience living with a disability, We Gotta Play Together founder Josee Uwamahoro dreams of a safe, inclusive space where no child is turned away and everyone is welcome. As an Edmonton mother of 2, with years of experience working within the disability community, Josee saw a need for a play space where children were not divided by their abilities but rather playing side by side in a safe space for all. By making this playground indoors, childrens and families can enjoy it year round.

In addition to fundraising, we are also looking for the following support:

  • Volunteers to help us spread the word about WGPT. Our team meets regularly to work towards our goal of bringing the WGPT Centre to life.

  • Connections to local construction companies

  • Board members to join our registered nonprofit as we are currently working on attaining our charitable status.

Leave Us A Message

“There’s always been a commitment to provide playgrounds that welcome children and families to enjoy the fun and now let’s take that commitment even further. It’s time to build an indoor playground that is accessible and inclusive to one and all.”

Let's All Lend A Hand

WGPT needs everyone from citizens, corporations and the government to jump on board and help make this dream a reality. Edmonton has always been a human rights leader and now we have the opportunity to show the province, country and the world how serious it is about helping disabled children.
